      CONTINENTAL INC. is looking to hire a Build Tech in the Pendleton, IN area.  In this role, and under direct supervision of the Build Operations Supervisor, the Temporary build Technician will be responsible for the assembly of hybrid electric machines, starter motors, alternators, and associated sub-assemblies. The Temporary Build Technician will support the company's objectives of developing and implementing optimal designs, supporting engineering development and fulfilling customer demand while upholding quality standards. The Temporary build Technician is a key element for driving continuous improvement within the processes of low volume production and prototype assembly. The Temporary Build Technician will support Product Engineering and Development Engineering by providing product build services per approved procedures. 






    • Work in a prototype, test, and low volume build environment with high quality standards
    • Build, assemble, and fabricate hybrid electric machines, motors, alternators, and associated subassemblies that meet all quality expectations
    • Build low volume production as well as sample/prototype builds
    • Support the laboratory development, production launch and maintenance of components or systems
    • Inspect, assemble and conduct tests on products
    • Analyze results and maintain accurate records
    • Provide technical support for all related duties in the engineering area as required
    • Organize and maintain personal and common work areas continuously throughout the work day
    • Seek out assistance from management or the engineering staff to insure the approval and quality of all builds
    • Work within a quality at the source philosophy
    • Follow work instructions, control plans, and other production documentation
    • Cross train across functional areas
    • Participate in training initiatives and required programs
    • Work in fast pace manufacturing/build environment to meet customer requirements
    • Follow all safety guidelines and assist in implementing new/improved safety procedures
    • Operate hoist mechanisms for lifting items weighing greater than 35 lbs
    • Other duties as assigned by management






    Education & Experience:

    • 1 year minimum in a technical field required such as manufacturing, build/assembly operations, engineering or automotive related experience required
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Associates Degree or equivalent advanced experience in a technical field preferred
    • Ability to interpret schematic and blueprints and apply to the build process
    • Basic technical math skills are required
    • Ability to cross train between test operations and other build operations
    • Analytical skills and problem solving skills
    • Basic knowledge of plant operations and processes
    • Basic understanding of procedures and techniques
    • Technical background with emphasis in mechanical and/or electrical principles
    • Works under close supervision
    • Good interpersonal relations skills: able to work well in a team environment
    • Ability to accurately follow detailed instructions and procedures
    • Strong communication skills
    • Experience with general office computer tools
    • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
    • Able to stand on feet for 8 hours/day
